30th Annual Jack Oatts Jazz Festival

The 30th Annual Jack Oatts Jazz Festival will be held in the Earlham Schools Auditorium on Saturday, February 6, 2016.  The festival promotes jazz education in honor of Mr. Jack Oatts.  Mr. Oatts, known as the "Father of Iowa High School Jazz Education," was the Earlham band director from 1955-1966.  Twenty three jazz ensembles from Class 1A, 2A, 3A, 4A, and Junior High schools will be performing throughout the day.  The festival performances are open to the public.  Admission to the festival is $5 for adults and $3 for students.  This year's judges include Mr. Jim Oatts, Dr. Jim Romain (Drake University), and Dr. Jim Bovinette (Iowa State University).
