Earlham High School Jazz Finishes in 1st Place at Hoover Jazz Festival

The Earlham High School Jazz Band, under the direction of Mr. Nate Sletten, earned another 1st Place finish at the Hoover Jazz Festival on Saturday, March 5th.  This is the fourth consecutive 1st Place finish for the band this school year.  Other bands in Class 2A included Roland-Story, Southeast Valley, Des Moines Christian, West Marshall, Madrid, Ogden, Pleasantville, and Maple Valley High Schools.  Holly Partlow (trumpet) and Austin Griswold (alto sax) were honored with the Class 2A All-Star Jazz Band distinction for their outstanding performances.  The Earlham High School Jazz Band's next performance will be at the 7-12 Variety Show on Thursday, March 10th, at 6:00 PM.  The band will finish their season by participating in the Iowa Jazz Championships held in Des Moines on Tuesday, April 5th.
