SCIBA Middle School Honor Band Information

The South Central Iowa Bandmasters Association Middle School Honor Band was held on November 3, 2015 at Ankeny High School. Earlham had three students participating in the event. 7th Grade students are selected based on director nomination. Cheyenne McDaniel (trombone) was selected for the Red Band. The Red Band was conducted by Earlham's own Mr. Nate Sletten. Sam Doud (clarinet) was selected for the White Band, conducted by Dr. Mark Doerffel (Director of Bands, Grand View University). 8th graders are accepted based on auditions earlier in the fall. Eva Fisk (alto saxophone) earned 1st chair alto saxophone in the Blue Band, conducted by Mr. Jayson Gerth (Southeast Polk High School). Eva's first chair honor qualifies her to be a member of the 2016 All Iowa Honor Band which will perform during the Iowa Bandmasters Association Conference in May 2016.
